In an effort to promote good SEO practices, which will be beneficial to the real people, Google has provided very useful information for website owners. Is a comprehensive resource that is a comprehensive search engine optimization starter guide. Since it is too long, we have taken the liberty to summarize the top 10 most important points for you.

1. Create page title that:

  • Describe the page content accurately.
  • Unique by page.
  • are short but descriptive

2. Use the "descriptive" meta tag

The description meta tag summarizes Google and other search engines about each page. This content is generally not used for ranking purposes, but it is still important because it is usually a descriptive snippet of your site Is displayed in the search results.

It's important for:

1. Summarize the contents of the page correctly.
2. Use unique details for each page.
3.Invite or entice the online job seeker to see the page.

3. Improving the structure of your URL

Clear, readable URL search engines help you understand the context of your page. They help real people make decisions about the content of the page, and whether it is what they are looking for or not.

Make sure your URL:

• Related to Page Content
• Keywords (such as job title) are included in
• Short (better for a long time)
• Easy to read (i.e. proper sentence structure).
• Create a simple directory structure
• Skip dynamic parameters when possible (like "type = blog and id = 44").

4. Make it easy to navigate your site

Navigation to search engines is very important, through pages in the hierarchy, a straightforward hierarchy and clear internal links will make it easy for both search engines and users to find their content.
  1. Allow users to easily backtrack them by providing 'breadcrumb lists' (like "Home> Resource> Articles> Blog").
  2. Allow the possibility of extracting part of the URL (such as mycompany.com/jobs/atlanta/softwarejob1 for use- if you remove the last piece, the result is a real page on mycompany.com/jobs/atlanta Should return / - with that page will list all jobs in Atlanta)
  3. Prepare two sitemaps: one for the user, and one for the search engine.
  4. Create a naturally flowing hierarchy
  5. Use mostly text for navigation; Avoid image links or complex JavaScript menus

5. Offer quality content

When they provide quality content, search engines like Google Rank sites are better. Estimate the differences between the understanding of online users of your subject, and provide unique, unique content. For career sites, it may include details of employment and work environment, culture, etc.

The material is considered high quality when it is:
  • Exclusive (like does not copy content from other sites)
  • Useful and informative (think 5 W, answer questions)
  • More valuable and useful than other sites (look at competitors)
  • Reliable (e.g., testimonials)
  • Engagement (such as Pictures, Widgets, Interactive FEATURES)
  • Error-free (spelling, grammar)

6. Write better anchor text

Anchor text is a link readable text, as it appears on a page, such as "Look at our available jobs." The appropriate anchor text makes it easy to express what the content is connected to.

1. Choose descriptive text - Do not use "click here".
2. Collapse
3. Format the format anchor so that they can be easily searchable (i.e. underline them and make font blue)
4. Think also about anchor text for internal links.
For example: If you have a list of open jobs, which should be the title of each open job, each link on the job description page, anchor text should ideally be.

7. Optimize your use of images

You can provide image-related information using the "alt" attribute in HTML.

1. Use concise but descriptive file names and optional text.
2. While using images in the form of the link, make alternate text.
3. Explain an image sitemap file.
8. Use appropriate title tags

Use the title tag to emphasize important lessons. The title tags are: <h1>, <h2>, <h3>, etc. They are used to indicate headers and sub-headers on the page, and to establish a clear hierarchy. This is different from the HTML <head> tag, which is included at the top of each HTML document

Your <h1> is the most important header or statement on the web page. Everything on the page should be related to <h1> your <h2> is your second most important description, and so on. Think of it as an outline of an essay. What is the essay about it, and then what is the paragraph about it?

On the job page, the title of the job will usually be referred to as <h1> This emphasizes the title of the candidate as well as the search engine on the page. After this, each separate section <h2> tag, such as "job duties and responsibilities" or "necessary experience" will be found within the job page.

Note: Remember that sentences are not titles, so they should not get the top tag.

Top 10 SEO Analysis Tools


In a previous post, I presented a massive list of free SEO tools that can help you accomplish various SEO tasks (e.g., backlink investigation, keyword research, etc.). I received a lot of positive feedback about that list, but people consistently requested more SEO analysis tools.

Since I’m a man of the people, this post is completely dedicated to SEO analysis tools. For each tool, I’ve provided a brief overview of its functionality, and I’ve also included helpful screenshots along the way. After you finish this post, your SEO analysis toolbox should be overflowing with goodness!

Now, let’s get started…

#1 WooRank

WooRank
WooRank is a premium tool that provides an “instant website review.” Without a premium account, you are only allowed to generate a limited number of free reports, but you are able to view previously generated reports. Also, the tool currently offers a 7-day unlimited free trial, which gives you access to unlimited reviews. If you’re interested in purchasing a plan, the cheapest one is $49/month.

The report is divided into the following 8 sections:
  • Marketing Checklist – These are the most important action items for your site.
  • SEO – This section checks if the site is following various on-page and off-page SEO best practices (e.g., appropriate title and description, keyword consistency, backlink count, www/non-www canonicalization, XML Sitemap usage, etc.).
  • Mobile – The mobile version of your site is displayed, and the site’s adherence to mobile optimization best practices is evaluated.
  • Usability – This determines if your site is user-friendly by evaluating various usability best practices (e.g., the existence of a custom 404 page, above the fold content, structured markup, etc.).
  • Technologies – This section investigates miscellaneous aspects of the site (e.g., W3C standards compliance, speed optimizations, etc.).
  • Social – This quantifies your site’s popularity on social networks, and it reproduces various social data found elsewhere (e.g., profile information on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.).

  • Common SEO Issues – This section includes a wide variety of SEO checks (e.g., keyword usage in important markup areas, an appropriate code to text ratio, the existence of a robots.txt file and an XML Sitemap, HTML standards compliance, SEO-friendly URLs, etc.).
  • Speed Optimizations – This covers various load performance-related checks (e.g., page size, compression, caching, minification, server speed, etc.).
  • Server & Security – This section identifies a few important hosting and security characteristics of the site (e.g., proper canonicalization, appearance on suspicious blacklists, providing unnecessary access or displaying potentially sensitive information, etc.).

Site Auditor is one of the SEO tools provided by Raven Tools as part of their Internet marketing solution. After you run Site Auditor on your website, the tool presents a report that summarizes its findings.

Currently, Raven Tools offers a 30-day free trial for Site Auditor (and all of their other tools). Once your free trial expires, the least expensive premium plan is $99/month.

  • Visibility – This summarizes your site’s visibility for search engines (e.g., which pages are blocked by robots.txt and/or robots meta tags, which pages cannot be found, and which pages return redirects).
  • Meta – This section identifies the site’s most important metadata and corresponding duplication (e.g., duplicate titles, duplicate meta descriptions, etc.).
  • Content – This presents important characteristics for your site’s textual content (e.g., title, link counts, word count, existence of internal duplicate content, etc.).
  • Links – This section lists information about the site’s internal and external links (e.g., anchor text, if the links are broken, if the links are nofollowed, etc.).
  • Images – This shows your site’s images and corresponding metadata (e.g., filename, alt text, title text, size, etc.).
  • Semantics – This section offers information about the site’s headings (h1, h2, and h3 tags) and schema.org microdata (items and types).
  • Desktop Page Speed – This gives your site’s desktop page speed results: a numerical score and corresponding speed-related best practices (e.g., avoid page redirects, enable compression, reduce server response time, etc.).
  • Mobile Page Speed – This section displays your site’s mobile page speed results: a numerical user experience score, a numerical speed score, corresponding user experience best practices (e.g., size content to view-port, size tap targets appropriately, etc.) and speed-related best practices.
  • Crawl Comparison – This compares different crawls of the site (performed at different times) to evaluate how the site’s issues are changing over time.




#4 Hub Spot's Marketing Grader

Unlike many of the other SEO analysis tools on this list, which focus primarily on your site’s SEO activities, Marketing Grader digs a little deeper into your company’s online marketing strategy.

The report focuses on five areas of your company’s online marketing efforts:
  • Blogging – This section investigates your blogging activities (e.g., does your site have a blog, does it have social sharing buttons, etc.).
  • Social Media – This section evaluates your social media activities (e.g., are you using Twitter and Facebook, do you link to your profiles from the homepage, etc.).
  • SEO – This section checks a few important on-page and off-page SEO ranking factors (e.g., titles, descriptions, backlinks, etc.).
  • Lead Generation – This section analyzes the effectiveness of your landing pages (e.g., are you using forms to capture leads, are you using analytics software to measure your results, etc.).

Site Analyzer is another free SEO analyzer, and it presents 71 data points, which are organized into 5 groups. After you perform an analysis on your site, the tool presents an overview, which includes a global score as well as accessibility, design, texts, multimedia, and networking scores.

  • Accessibility – This includes general data about the site (e.g., if compression is enabled, whether page caching is allowed, download time, etc.), URL optimization, server configuration (e.g., hosting environment, IP address, etc.), internationalization, mobile compatibility, and more.
  • Design – This section describes how well your site has implemented various HTML/CSS elements (e.g., meta tags, page segmentation, CSS elements, scripts, etc.).
  • Texts – This shows important text-related information such as a page’s title, text/code ratio, headings, keyword density distribution, and keyword usage.
  • Multimedia – This section is dedicated to images (e.g., the number of displayed images, the use of alt text metadata, etc.), Flash, frames, and icons.

This SEO analysis tool has been around for quite some time, and although it’s not the prettiest tool on the list, it’s still incredibly useful. After you evaluate a URL, the tool presents an analysis report, which is broken down into the following sections:
  • HTTP Headers Check – This section displays the HTTP headers that are returned in response to a request for the given URL.
  • Head Elements – The page’s most important
  • Page Most Relevant Keywords / Keyphrases – This section presents the page’s most popular (based on keyword density) one, two, three, and four word keyword phrases.
  • The Page Displayed within Search Engine Results – This is an approximation of what the page will look like in the search engine results.
  • URLs Found in the Page – All of the page’s internal and external outlinks are displayed.
  • Keywords Found in the Anchor Tags – This section shows the anchor text used in each of the page’s outlinks.
  • Keywords Found in Image Alt Attributes – This is a list of the phrases used in alt text for the page’s images.
  • Heading & Phrase Elements – Each of the page’s heading and stylistic tags are shown.

#7 Lipperhey

Lipperhey

Lipperhey is not as popular as some of the other SEO analysis tools, but it still presents a lot of important information. Similar to previous tools, Lipperhey generates an SEO analysis report based on the URL you provide.

  • Visitors – This estimates the number of visitors your site receives, and it helps quantify the site’s social engagement.

  • Hosting – This includes information about your site’s hosting infrastructure (e.g., server location, hosting IP address, www/non-www canonicalization, download speed, redirecting domains, etc.).
  • Design – This section previews how the site appears on mobile devices, and identifies a few other design-related elements (e.g., inline style elements, images, etc.).

UpCity offers a free website grader that analyzes a site and presents its findings in an SEO report card. This report card displays a numerical score, which is generated based on the site’s adherence to 18 best practices in the following 6 categories:
  • Rank Analysis – This category identifies whether or not the site is ranking in Google and Bing for the targeted keyword.
  • Link Building – This section checks if the site is receiving a sufficient number of backlinks.
  • On-Site Analysis – This simply checks if the targeted keyword is being used in the homepage’s title and body.
  • Website Accessibility – This category ensures that the site’s homepage loads quickly and is accessible to search engines.
  • Trust Metrics – This section checks if the site is reasonably well established.

How to submit your Blogger Sitemap to Google | InspireSpace







Sitemaps are text files containing a list of all web pages that exist on your website and are accessible to crawlers and users. These helps visitors and search engine bots to find pages on website. Sitemaps are a way to help Google indexing pages on your site which otherwise might not be discovered. 

If your blog is hosted on blogspot.com (or if you are using a self-hosted version of Blogger with a custom domain) you will be surprised to find out that the default sitemap file, contains only the 26 most recent pages of your blog which in normal case should contain all URLs of a website.
Many webmaster pretend to teach others how to drive traffic to blogs or websites yet leaving out the most important factors like sitemaps. There are still other websites who keep on providing the old methods of generating a sitemap for blogger which are not any effective.

How to add a complete Sitemap for your Blogger Blog

Step 1: If you haven't done this already, sign-in to your Google Webmasters account and add your blog. For details, check this tutorial on how to add a blog to Google.

Step 2: Once your blog is added to Google, go to Webmaster Dashboard  and click on your site address

Step 3:  On the left panel choose Crawl > Sitemaps - then click on the Add/Test Sitemap button.

Add each of the following codes:

A blogger needs to know at least the minimum on SEO. For it, you don't need to be an SEO expert but you need to know the minimum so that your posts are well indexed in the search engines.
The phrase "content is king" is one of the widest spread Internet memes being used by so many bloggers, with the idea that you should focus on having quality content, while the rest don't matter much. This is not true. Quality content is important, but it shouldn't be the only concern of a blogger today. In addition to producing quality content, your text needs to be optimized for the search engines.
Now, let's see what would be the basics that any blogger needs to learn about SEO and other simple SEO knowledge. Below are 5 easy tips to improve the SEO of your blog:


1. Define the keyword

When you write a post, it is recommended to choose the keyword (or term) suitable for your text. What you want is that this keyword - or term - to be searched on Google, and then get your post among the top. For this, you need to use this keyword a few times in the text.

For example, here the keyword could be SEO, but this term is too generic and I could hardly get in the top for this search. Then I'll work with a phrase or a long tail keyword, so that this post will rank for the term "easy ways to improve the SEO of a blog". I will use this phrase a few times, but without overdoing it.


2. Use the keyword in the post title

Now that I have defined the keyword, I will use it in the post title. This step is very important, and certainly will help you to get a better rank in search engines. As you can see, what I have in the title is the easy ways to improve the SEO of a blog keyword, along with other words to form an attractive and optimized title for SEO.


3. Use the keyword in the H2 tags

You must also use heading tags (h2, h3) in your posts. Here, I am using the keyword "easy ways to improve the SEO of a blog" in a H2 heading. Do this always, because it also helps to become well positioned in the search results. If you don't know or don't understand what are the heading tags, I would suggest to do a further research on this subject.

4. Use the keyword in the text

Make use of your chosen keywords throughout the text. Especially in the first paragraph (please note that I have repeated the title in italics in the first sentence). But be careful when doing this, there is a maximum and minimum limit for that. A good keyword density is between 1.5% to 4.5% for best results. Less than that will have no effect and more than that can alert the search engines and your text might be considered spam.


5. Publish Posts with 300 words or more

Posts under 300 words have little chance to be among the top results in search engines. Of course, you will be able to rank for multiple keywords that are less popular with less than 300 words, but for the most competitive keywords that have the potential to bring a greater number of visits, it will be nearly impossible.

Thus, it is recommended to write posts with more than 300 words. It's not hard when you really understand the topic you're talking about.
